Inspired by the landscapes and culture of Appalachia, my paintings explore the in between space of dreams and memory. Working primarily in acrylic paint, I use bold colors, layered texture, and movement to evoke a familiar but unsettling sense of place.

America the Beautiful series
I started painting American flags in 2007 during the George W. Bush administration. Over the years I’ve returned to flags to process uncertain political times. Recently, I’ve started expanding the series to include flags of individual states and countries.

This exhibition aims to investigate and celebrate the new media, methods, and creative journeys our artists are embracing—whether through experimentation with unfamiliar materials, innovative processes, or fresh interpretations of traditional forms.
By highlighting work created within the past two years, New Works 2025 reflects the vitality of our regional arts community and honors the commitment artists make to push boundaries, take risks, and expand their practice. The exhibition seeks to inspire dialogue between artists and audiences, encouraging exploration of both the familiar and the unexpected in contemporary artmaking.

LinDor Arts is celebrating both July 4th and America's 250th with a benefit show for WBRA. This is their first exhibition made up entirely of open calls; representing a diverse range of political perspectives from Virginia artists and promoting frank and inclusive conversation. Included in the show are sixty-six individual works of art from more than forty regional artists. Exhibition will open July 3rd, at 5pm as part of Art By Night and close on July 31st at 3pm.
The annual Radford Art Show opening reception takes place on July 25 from 1–4 PM at Tyler Gallery, 214 Tyler Ave, Radford, VA. The exhibition features 3D and 2D work in many mediums created by artists from around the region. This event is sponsored by Radford University’s College of Visual and Performing Arts, the city of Radford and the Mary Draper Ingles Festival.
Gallery hours are Wednesday–Saturday, 12–4 PM, and all exhibitions are free and open to the public. Show runs through August 10.
